International Winter and Summer Kids' and Teens' Camps in Slovenia and Austria for 6-17 year olds
Explorer Camps’ sleep-away program builds global friendships through thrilling adventures like rafting and Gellyball, prioritizing safety and growth across flexible 1-3 week sessions. Our daily rhythm features age-specific Morning Group bonding, Afternoon Choice with 14+ activities (e.g. horse riding, archery, arts), unifying Evening Tribe Wars, and reflective Campers’ Corner connection games.
Explorer Camps’ age-group structure is based on 20+ years of observing how children develop. For our youngest campers (6-9), we prioritize safety and structured play. For tweens (10-12), we introduce more choice as their decision-making abilities grow. Teens (13-17) thrive with increasing responsibility because their brains are wired for peer connection and purpose-driven activities.
Activities made for how children think, play, and grow at different ages—so campers have fun challenges that are not too hard.
More staff for younger kids (1 staff for every 4 children) and safe activity changes create a place parents trust for their child's safety.
Activities fit each age so campers can succeed and feel good about themselves through tasks that grow harder as they get older.
From playing together for young kids (6-9) to leading for teens (13-17), we build social skills that campers use at home and school.
We slowly give more jobs and choices as campers get older—helping them learn to make good decisions without rushing.
Our planned path from Discoverer to Pioneer to Trailblazer builds skills smoothly so each summer prepares campers for the next age group.
Age-group activities plus special cross-group times (like Evening Tribe Wars) create safe learning spaces and chances to make friends with all campers.
Our program helps campers get better over many summers with clear steps to move from beginner to expert in all activities.
Our specially designed program for 6-9 year olds wraps your little explorer in warmth, friendship, and discovery within a safe, nurturing environment that feels like a second home. With an exceptional 4:1 camper-to-staff ratio and small groups of just 6-8 campers, our caring mentors guide children through age-appropriate adventures that build confidence and independence.
Pioneers (10-11) and Adventurers (12) programs provide the perfect balance of independence and support during this developmental stage. In a vibrant community of 30+ nationalities, campers safely step outside their comfort zones through thrilling adventures while developing critical thinking, self-confidence, and cross-cultural friendships under the guidance of our dedicated counselors.
Teens discover their authentic selves through purposeful independence in our Outlaws (13), Trailblazers (14-15), and Pathfinders (16+) program—where they’re treated as young adults with freedom to choose adventures while building confidence, empathy, and leadership. Mentors guide hands-on challenges and cross-cultural connections among 30+ nationalities.
Two weeks transform your child’s experience—deepening friendships, building confidence, and fostering authentic growth through unique adventures each week. With no repetition in familiar surroundings, campers immerse in challenges from hiking to Gellyball, returning with stronger social and life skills, lasting personal connections, and lifelong memories.
Age-specific outdoor adventures like white water rafting or bellyaking, hiking, biking, team building and our Water Park build foundational friendships in small groups with personalized attention and developmentally appropriate challenges.
Campers select from 14+ activities including rock climbing, Gellyball, cooking, Lego Corner, horse riding, archery, sling shot, beach volleyball, arts & crafts allowing personalized exploration of interests while building new skills through hands-on learning.
Camp-wide mixed-age challenges build community spirit through friendly competition, culminating in an exciting final Paint War battle that unites all campers. These specially designed games grow leadership opportunities while teaching teamwork and fairness.
All luxury and private houses feature cross-ventilation design, fully-airconditioned with a large number of screened windows ensuring campers are not impacted by the heat or cold. Plus weatherproof construction to ensure comfort in all seasonal conditions.
We maintain exceptional nighttime ratios: 1:4 for ages 6-9 (with counselors close to the houses), 1:6 for ages 10-12, and 1:8 for teens—all staff certified in first aid and emergency response with the on-site 1st Aider being on call 24/7.
Our internationally trained night staff implement proven comfort techniques including “worry boxes,” scheduled family photo time, and gentle redirection strategies specifically designed for non-native English speakers.
Learning through hands-on adventures rather than lectures, developing life skills by doing and reflecting. Activities build confidence, problem-solving, and independence through practical experience.
Campers earn beads for demonstrating values like courage and kindness, showing personal growth visibly. This system celebrates victories and encourages character and community development.
Shared nutritious meals bring campers together, fostering community and providing energy for adventures. Family-style dining creates opportunities for conversation and cultural exchange.
