WHAT'S NEW AT EXPLORER INTERNATIONAL KIDS' CAMPS?
INCREDIBLE NEW LOCATION
Camp Velenje at Lake Velenje is the perfect location for children. Its natural beach was classed as ‘The Beach Beach’ in 2022 for the 4th year in a row and with water reaching 25°C during the summer, it is perfect for swimming and a multitude of water sports. It is only a little more than 1 hour’s drive from Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, and all along a highway making it easily accessible.
NEW MODERN SLEEPING
Camp Velenje is set directly onto Lake Velenje. The whole facility was completely renewed, rebuilt, and upgraded in 2022/3 under new owners, with continual improvements being made including a brand new pool only for Camp Velenje guests. The entire camp completely is gated with security access only, adding to the modern accommodation on offer.
WHY DID EXPLORER CAMPS MOVE THIS SUMMER?
A HOME AWAY FROM HOME
COMFORTABLE HOME
Each Mobile Home is exclusively used by Explorer Camps and accommodate up to 6 children. They are fully air-conditioned and have 2 bedrooms, 2 private bathrooms with towels, a fridge, a kitchen area plus a large outdoor covered terrace to relax on.
CAMPING OUT
Once a week each group camps out under the stars in luxurious tents that accommodate 2 children with ample space for bags and accessories. Each tent is on-site at Camp Velenje and has comfortable airbeds and linen so your children enjoy nature in style.
INCREDIBLE FACILTIES
Camp Velenje provides Explorer Camps with a private eating area that also includes minature golf, table tennis, volleyball, football, archery plus a range of other sports exclusively for Explorer Camps. On top of this is the private pool plus jacussi.

Three meals a day plus a snack all using locally grown and sourced produce with a menu designed in collaboration with the Explorer team.

Lake Velenje is only a little over an hour’s drive from Ljubljana with a majority of time travelling on highway meaning it is easy to get to.
MODERN FACILTIES
The entire camp is completely new whether it be the reception, mobile homes, restrooms, cafe, pool, eating areas, security system … EVERYTHING!
NO TECHNOLOGY
Connections and friendships are #1 at Explorer Camps, so your child doesn’t have any access to screen time the entire stay on camp.
2 WEEK PROGRAM
Incredible variety between the two weeks of programs making sure that our 2-week campers are always entertained and stimulated.
CLOSE TO MEDICAL HELP
Velenje Medical Centre is a only 5 min drive meaning your children can quick seek medical atttention for whatever concern or need.
WATER FUN
Campers enjoy the nearby warm water of Lake Velenje under the expert supervision of camp staff all day and at any time.

Whether your child is a 1- or 2-weeker, they will take different day trips as a group building togetherness and experiencing more of the Slovene countryside.
