International Winter and Summer Kids' and Teens' Camps in Slovenia and Austria for 6-17 year olds
The ‘Bubbles Scuba Program’ is for children aged 10-12. It is conducted at the indoor pool on-site at Hotel Kovač by licensed and experience scuba instructors with a ratio of one instructor per 4 children. It includes approx. 1 hour theory (including e-learning) and 1 hour in the water whether in the pool or river.
The ‘Discover Scuba Program’ is for teenagers aged 13-17. It is set in the nearby Kolpa River with one experienced scuba instructor per 3 children. It is an open dive meaning that they will see a range of fish and local wildlife in the stunning water of the Kolpa.
Amazing new addition for our 2 weeker campers. Run at Lake Kočevlje which is one of the cleanest and deepest lakes in Slovenia and has good constant winds for sailing. During summer it is quite popular for a wide range of water sports and is about a 40min drive from the camps.
The sailing boats hold only one person at a time (see pictured) so children should be over 150cm. This is why we have reserved this activity more for our teenagers. There is approx. 30 min theory then over 2 hours for our children to truly enjoy the boats.
Horse riding is open to all of our Discovers, and also all 2 weeker campers. It is run at the nearby famous Ranch Marina where our younger children will be lead through the surrounding forest, river and fields. It also includes a horse and carriage ride plus a range of other activities on site.
Our older 2 weeker campers have a little more freedom and if they display correct riding styles will be able to ride the horses without being led. All riding sessions take about 60 mins, and include the much anticipated home cooked lunch.
An incredible new addition designed to encourage our teens to grow more practical leadership skills that will help them at school, in life and also in the future.
The goal is to provide participants with practical opportunities to build leadership skills under the close and expert guidance of mature staff members.
An introduction into leadership with a focus on the basics. Optional online modules before camps, with practical workshops and leadership opportunities on camp it’s definitely an incredible opportunity to grow skills not commonly taught at school.
Created to challenge our teens in a variety of practical workshops and leadership sessions. Wonderful support before and during camps all done with expert one-on-one mentorship designed to give your child that personal attention he or she needs.
Wonderful opportunity for our oldest campers to prepare for the real-world by spending close and quality time not only with their experienced mentors but the whole Explorer team. On top of this is a whole host of potential leadership opportunities where your child plans and runs activities alone but under the supervision of their personal mentor.
They key for our 2 weekers is having a wide variety of activities to choose from so each week is entirely different and fun without a lot of repetition.
The additions range from actual activities, program set up, more freedom to choose and day trips. Absolutely something for everyone to look forward to.
Our 2 weeker campers automatically get to choose activities not available to our 1 weekers. These include our Adventure Park, Sailing, and Horse Riding.
The schedule of the first and second week of camps are entirely different with no repetition of evening activities, plus a greater number of afternoon ‘choice’ activities to choose from. Even their hikes, rafting, and stand up paddling are all done in different places.
Ljubljana City: All 2 weeker campers will spend a day taking in the sights of the capital city of Slovenia. They’ll have freedom to explorer with their groups, and also participate in a city-wide scavenger hunt.
Križna Cave: Stunning series of caves with an underground lake our children will raft on.
While popular in the US, our Virtual Camps will be the first of its kind within Europe. It’s a chance for ex-campers to reunite during school time and is free!
These will occur online once a month for approximately 90 mins so your children can stay in touch with the camps, and also learn some new skills!
This incredible offer is open to all past campers, so all of our families can join these monthly sessions.
Virtual sessions are set up one a month so children can stay in contact throughout the school days.
Initially the focus will be on running ‘Camper Catchups’ where those from our 2022 summer season can reconnect by playing a series of fun online games.
However, activities such as Dungeons & Dragons, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Escape Rooms will also be available.
Explorer Camps is renowned for its fun and stimulating activities, however we’re looking to add even more spark and variation to your child’s day!
Each and every aspect of camp has seen an increased of choice where your children are able to pick what they would like to do and also what to avoid!
Every afternoon our kids and teens will be able to choose from 9 different activities they can participate in. The goal is to provide a winder range of options for campers and more freedom to pick and choose.
Every evening will be different, with a focus on having the whole camp come together to participate in a camp-wide activity. This could be our famous ‘Cook Off’ where groups create meals from given ingredients. Carnivals. Team vs Team Challenges. There’s so much to do!
A real focus is placed on our campers building their creativity skills. Kids and teens have more arts & crafts, more cooking, more STEM sessions, more photography workshops. ALL designed to stimulate greater creativity!
All campers will participate in guided breathing sessions to help them learn how to calm their nerves.
Kids and teens get a little bit extra structured free time to create their own entertainment and fun.
Each camp has a number of potential social projects children can work on that helps the local community.
Our Camp Nurses run a series of workshops for children of all ages showing them the basics in 1st Aid.
Some amazing new traditions that will have your children even more closely connected to each other and camp.
Explorer Camps is hiring a number of vans for private use which means we have more control over safety.
